|| Hope Center Ministries

At Hope Center Ministries, we believe that recovery is about more than just the 12 steps. That's why we proudly support Celebrate Recovery.

What are the 12 Steps to Recovery?

The 12 Steps of recovery are a set of guiding principles used in various recovery programs, most notably Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and other Twelve-Step programs. These steps provide a structured approach to overcoming addiction, fostering personal growth, and finding spiritual enlightenment. Here's a brief overview of the 12 Steps:

1. Admitting powerlessness: Acknowledging that one's addiction has become unmanageable and recognizing the need for help.

2. Believing in a higher power: Accepting that restoration to sanity requires reliance on a power greater than oneself.

3. Surrendering to the higher power: Making a conscious decision to turn one's will and life over to the care of a higher power.

4. Taking a moral inventory: Engaging in honest self-reflection and identifying character defects and past wrongs.

5. Admitting wrongs to oneself, a higher power, and others: Acknowledging the nature of one's wrongs to oneself, a higher power, and another person.

6. Being ready to have defects removed: Willingness to let go of character flaws and shortcomings.

7. Asking a higher power to remove defects: Humbly seeking the removal of one's shortcomings.

8. Making a list of people harmed and being willing to make amends: Compiling a list of individuals harmed by one's actions and being prepared to make amends.

9. Making direct amends to such people wherever possible: Actively seeking to rectify harm done to others, except when doing so would cause further harm.

10. Continuing to take personal inventory: Regularly examining oneself and promptly admitting faults.

11. Seeking through prayer and meditation to improve conscious contact with a higher power: Engaging in spiritual practices to deepen one's connection with a higher power and seek guidance.

12. Carrying the message to others and practicing these principles in all affairs: Sharing one's experience, strength, and hope with others in recovery and living by these principles in everyday life.

At Hope Center Ministries, we recognize the importance of step-based recovery programs by participating in Celebrate Recovery.

What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program designed to help individuals overcome a variety of hurts, habits, and hang-ups. It provides a safe and supportive environment where people can find healing and freedom from issues such as addiction, co-dependency, trauma, depression, and more.

The program is based on the 12 steps and 8 principles, adapted from the traditional 12-step model, but with a focus on biblical teachings and spiritual growth. Participants are encouraged to surrender their struggles to a higher power, Jesus Christ, and to rely on His strength and guidance throughout their recovery journey.

Stronger Together.

One of the key aspects of Celebrate Recovery is its emphasis on community and accountability. Participants gather in small groups led by trained facilitators who have also experienced recovery through the program. In these groups, individuals share their experiences, support one another, and hold each other accountable as they work through the steps toward healing and transformation.

Celebrate Recovery meetings typically consist of worship, teaching or testimony, and small group discussion. The program covers a wide range of topics relevant to recovery, including denial, forgiveness, spiritual growth, and maintaining healthy relationships. Through these meetings, participants not only gain practical tools for overcoming their struggles but also find hope, encouragement, and acceptance within the community.

It's about more than just the 12 steps.

Another key component of Celebrate Recovery is its focus on addressing the underlying issues behind addictive behaviors and unhealthy patterns. The program encourages participants to explore and address the root causes of their struggles, whether they be past traumas, unresolved emotions, or negative thought patterns. By confronting these issues with honesty and vulnerability, individuals can experience true healing and lasting change.

Overall, Celebrate Recovery offers a holistic approach to recovery that addresses the spiritual, emotional, and relational aspects of healing. It provides a pathway to freedom and restoration for those who are willing to take the journey toward recovery with faith, courage, and perseverance.
